I have round face and am black and i do not have a clue about the shades and colors to useDoes any one have any idea how to makeup for a black woman?
It would depend if you are lighter skinned or darker skinned. Lighter skin can get away with wearing more pastel shades. Dark skin can take the more darker, sulty shades without looking trashy. I would say go to a department store and have a make over. Get some help in deciding from the pros.Does any one have any idea how to makeup for a black woman?

You need to choose your foundation carefully. matte foundations may not work as well as an oil based foundation for women of color. I recommend looking in your area for a good make-up artist who can recommend the right product and color for your skin type and tone. There are some really good artists that can custom create your own color if the over the counter products don't quite match. Because I do not know your tone I cannot recommend the accessory colors eyeshadow, lipstick, etc. Orange or burgandy may look good on one tone and a purple or red may look good on another. Do not go to the mall cosmetic counters they push products you really don't need %26amp; stay away for the overly expensive boutiques. A good make-up artist knows skin care and colors so do your research. Good Luck

Browns, bronze, gold and neutrals
Uhm, shades of gold and browns look really good. Shimmery brown-gold looks good too.
just use darker shades and darker lipstick. also, read the beauty section in the seventeen mag.
You are so lucky to have some color. While the rest of us are using bronzers and blushes, you are blessed with a great shade. That said, I suggest that you go to a department store and approach one of the reps in cosmetic counters and have her or him do your makeup. Depending on your face shape and coloring, they can determine which colors are best for you. Good Luck!

If you can get to a mac counter I would try that first. I have a medium tone skin an I can always fine something that matches perfectly there. You always want to use a foundation that matches your current skin tone so you may need to have one color for winter and another for summer.





Bronze, purples, greens eye shadows look great on dark skin.
