Read on to learn how to cover a birthmark with makeup.

1-Begin by applying a light, water-based foundation over the entire area. Blend the edges well and avoid using too much. Using too much will result in an over-made look, and may even lead to a bad complexion.

2-Carefully choose the right color of concealer. This will depend on the color of the birthmark. For a blue or purple tinted birthmark, a yellowish concealer will work the best. For a birthmark that is basically flesh colored but just darker than the natural skin tone, use a concealer that matches the skin tone but is at least two shades lighter. For a light pink birthmark, use a concealer that matched the natural skin tone. For a wine-colored birthmark, use a concealer that is flesh colored but a shade lighter and tinted yellow.

3- Dab the concealer onto the birthmark. If using a creamy concealer, let it dry for a few moments before blending.

4- Blend the concealer carefully. Do not wipe it off, and do not spread the concealer outside the lines of the birthmark.

Powder the entire area well. This will keep the makeup in place. For the most natural look, use a translucent powder.

Remember that birthmarks are usually much more obvious to the person that has it than others.

If the birthmark is elevated or has a rough texture to it, it will probably look worse caked with makeup. How do i use makeup to hide my birthmark on my arm?
I dont know why you would want to cover your birthmark because I think it gives people character. If you still do want to cover it up, find your skin tonned foundation and if you need help finding it, go to a makeup counter in one of your malls or a drugstore. Get a foundation sponge that looks like a 3D triangle shape, and take the bottle of foundation and put some on your hand by putting the bottle opening close to your hand so they are touching, then flip it upside down so some foundation comes out. Take the bottle off your hand and take the sponge and dap it in the foundation. Then dap your birthmark so it is fully covered.
I've actually seen BODY MAKE UP at the store and its used to to cover scars, marks, and flaws on people's arms and legs. YOu might have to retouch every now and then though.

why cover up your birthmark? if you really want to, you need to just get cut off your skin. Makeup wont cover something that dark... especially for swimming.

Maybe put a large bandaid over it?
