There's always youtube and searching on google. Asking on here is very helpful also. :) Here are some of my tips:

Let me start off by saying that if you're looking for inexpensive makeup, I suggest http://www.eyeslipsface.com. Nearly everything there is one dollar. It's not the best quiality, but it's good for someone starting out.

Eyeshadow:

I like getting maybelline quads. they last a long time.

http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/Ey鈥?/a>

I personally have lucious sorbet for my blue eyes.

The medium shade (top one showed on those quads) goes all over the lid.

Second one down (second darkest) compliments and goes in the crease.

The lightest goes all the way up to your brown bone.

Last but not least the darkest goes at the outer corner of your crease.

Blue eyes - browns and golds

Brown eyes - bronzes, browns, purples, pinks

Hazel Eyes - can pull off most any color 鈥?try greens, browns, pinks

Green eyes - purples, browns, golds

Make sure to invest in an eyeshadow brush鈥?the little sponge applicators it comes with are practically useless.

These are good rules for general eyeshadow, not just these quads.

As for eyeliner, black looks pretty good on everyone...

If you鈥檙e going for a lighter look, try brown.

eyeslipsface.com has some colors that are harder to find, such as sky blue for $1.

If your eyes are brown, purple can look good also. If your eyes are green, a dark forest green or purple is good.

When applying it on the top, make short strokes, not one big line. Thinner is better. Always BLEND. Pencil is better for beginner. You can also apply pencil eyeliner on the inner part of your lower lid. The pink strip above your bottom eyelashes is the best place :)

My favorite way to apply eyeliner is to buy an eyeliner brush and use black eyeshadow. It鈥檚 so much easier to apply and gives a lighter look.

Mascara - For a more natural look (and especially if your skin is light or your eyes are brown) use brown mascara. for a more dramatic look use black. and if you want to look crazy use colored, but I don鈥檛 reccomend it unless its halloween.

CoverGirl LashBlast is the BEST.

For blush, light pinks/peaches and tans or shimmers look good on most people. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks and cheekbones鈥?make sure it doesn鈥檛 look like a stripe. Smiling can help you find the apples of your cheeks.

Lip gloss - Can't go wrong with clear. I personally love Avon鈥檚 glazewear though.

Foundation - Most people don't need much foundation, especially not liquid, but... For a powder, be sure to use a brush. For liquid use a sponge or your hands. People seem to like bare minerals because it鈥檚 light on your skin and is good for you, but I havent tried it. Liquid provides heavier coverage for major blemishes, and powder is better for evening your skintone.

I'm only thirteen, but I get compliments on my makeup.

I keep it natural, this is what I normally use:

Clean%26amp;Clear Coverup for major blemishes

Peachy lipgloss by Avon (their glazewear is amazing. I use the ';PeachFizz'; flavor I think)

Usually a Maybelline eyeshadow quad in Lucious Sorbet or Avon neutrals pallette

CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara

Loreal HIP eyeliner on the bottom.

Black eyeshadow applied as eyeliner using an eyeliner brush from avon on the top lid.
