How can I get my makeup to last?

My eye shadow and eyeliner like melts and clumps to the middle of my lids. How can I get that to stop? How can I get my makeup to last?
Yes, use some Vaseline like the other girl said. How can I get my makeup to last?
it depends on the products you are using.

I prefer waterproof liquid eyeliner. If you are using pencil eyeliner, it will easily be smeared. Also try eye primer. There are different types of primers but I really like MAC eye primers. Apply to lids before applying eyeshadow. Hope this helps!
After you put on your foundation (cream), you should always set it with a powder. I have some friends who are models and this was their advice. Mine used to do the same thing, but after I diligently started powdering to set my foundation -- it stopped. Also, make sure to be using waterproof. You will need to remove it with eye makeup remover, but it will be less likely to run/melt.
get waterproof makeup and if you go to a mac store, they have some product (i forgot the name) that you apply to your eyelids before applying the eyeshadow on, it brings out the colors and also makes it last...just visit any M.A.C store and they can give you great tips :)! Hope that helped!!
Use a primer under your makeup.
Use She'Laq !

You paint this clear liquid over whatever make up (eyes, cheeks etc) %26amp; it dries clear %26amp; keeps your make up on until you wipe it off with remover! It really works, your make up will not shift or change at all, particularly eye shadows!
Use an eyeshadow primer .. Urban Decay Primer Potion works great and i also use MAC Paint Pots !

You can find some cheaper if you shop around !
Before applying any makeup to your eyes, you should always use primer. My favorite is Urban Decay Primer Potion, and you can get it at Sephora. They have it on the online store. It is a bit pricey but it definitely works great and keeps your makeup in place all day. You can also find a waterproof eyeliner , that might help.
i have heard vasiline works
Use warm water to wash your face and eyes, dry with tissues , use dry powder and then apply line.
Use a primer, it will seal it in and hold your makeup in place all day long. My favorite one is Laura Geller Spackle. She makes a spackle for eyes too which would be great for holding your eyeliner and shadow all in place. You can use it all around the eye area. Good luck!

Vaseline can make it too greasy by the way, or irritate your eyes. Depends on your skin type.
Vaseline works, but also Benefit has a really good primer:

and they have a face primer which you apply after you put on your foundation and blush and stuff:

it might be a little pricey but trust me its defenitly worth it! and you could also look for it on ebay or something.

Hope this helps =)
a good eye primer using the right products cream eyeshadows sem to melt away faster !
Use a eyelid primer like urban decay primer potion, or bare essentials prime time eyes. It will help absorb moisture and oil so that your eye make-up doesn't ';slide'; around. You will notice a huge difference. If you can get to a Sephora they have samples you can try.
As someone already mentioned She-laq its a Makeup sealer from Benefit!!!

Trust me this works wonders its a clear sealer that comes with a lip, brush as well as a mascara wand to turn any makeup into water-proof makeup!!

Example. I attended a funeral last year and wore smokey shadow and false lashes (I always do Im a Makeup artist) so anyways of course there was crying Alot but thanks to my she-laq my makeup stood put and my lashes never separated!!

Problem: Depending on how much you use, it may be a little hard for makeup to come off, even when u actually want it to!!

Also try 'Model in a Bottle' its an entire face spray that helps mattifie and make your makeup long lasting!!!
Use a bit of vaseline. It works ;)
for eyeshadow,

urban decay primer potion $16 @ sephora.

its amaaaaaaaaaazing i love it!

and for eyelinerr--uhh try waterproof?

mac fluid line-$15 works good too.

hope i helped(:
For the eyeshadow, use a primer and then put translucent powder on it before you apply eyeshadow. For the eyeliner, try using another brand, or put a dark colored (like black if youre using black eyeliner) powder of the eyeliner.
always put on a moisturizer before applying make-up after you do so' apply a shadow or powder foundation that is the same color as your lids. then do the shadow and eye liner. try to use waterproof eyeliner. it is great i can't live without it. remember don't forget to wash it off before going to bed!
Use make up primer. It's sheer and you put it underneath all of your makeup it will make it last all day.
I got a sample of this stuff called Medi-Matte from Sephora yesterday, and it is oil control lotion, it really works. It lasted 8 hrs today. You should go to Sephora and pick up some samples...

Hope I helped =)
Hmmm. The water-proof eyeliner seems a good way to go, though adding some water proof mascara would really help too. as for the shadow, i use sephora and clinque...i think the 'better' brand the shadow the better quality/usage you'll get from it.
dab powder on your lids before you apply the makeup, and a dab after
Use a primer for your eyelids. or get Waterproof eyeliner. :] also if you're putting eyeliner on the top of your lid, take clear mascara and run over the eyeliner with it, that'll seal it and make it last longer.
it sounds awful, and is but spray your face with hair spray very lightly

works a treat for me

not for everyday though, just a night out

it cant be good for the skin
i have the same prob.

Eyeliner..i use waterproof...doesnt run :)

havnt found anything that works for eye shadow tho...
weird. use a blow dryer ( cold and low ) and use that. i read that if you do that it makes your makeup last longer.
Well for starters ALWAYS use primer for everything.

There's different types so pay attention to the kind you buy.

For eyeshadow, you can also use any sticky substance like vaseline and then apply the eyeshadow on. Or you can use a cream eyeshadow like the RevlonCreme Eyeshadows and then apply another eyeshadow over it, just so it'll stick. Play around with it.

For powder/foundation lightly apply vaseline or a moisturizer or face cream. That always works.

For lips apply some powder on your lips before putting lipstick or lipgloss on. Just make sure it's not too light if you're putting clear lipgloss on.

Hope it helped. :]
